Voda how to change a mixer cartridge

How to replace a mixer cartridge

Over time, the ceramic disc cartridge inside your mixer may require replacement to restore smooth operation and performance. This step-by-step guide explains how to replace the cartridge in your Voda tap mixer safely and correctly.

Replacing a Ceramic Disc Cartridge

Before you begin, turn off the mains water supply to the mixer and ensure you have the appropriate replacement cartridge for your Voda product.

Step 1

Carefully remove the hot/cold indicator button from the handle using a craft knife, flat-blade screwdriver, or similar tool.

Step 2

Loosen the Allen grub screw located beneath the indicator and remove the handle.

Step 3

Remove the decorative collar trim, then unscrew the large retaining nut to release the cartridge. Take note of the locating lugs at the base of the cartridge before removing it.

Step 4

Check that the cartridge seal has not remained on the valve seat inside the mixer body.

Step 5

Insert the new cartridge, ensuring the locating lugs are correctly aligned and fully seated.

Step 6

Reinstall and tighten the retaining nut. As a guide, correct tension is typically achieved with approximately half a turn using a spanner. Avoid overtightening.

Step 7

Refit the collar trim, replace the handle, tighten the grub screw, and reinstall the hot/cold indicator button.
